About
Attempting to wear a different pair of sneakers from my collection every day for one year. No duplicates for 365 days. Starting April 24th 2009 to April 24th 2010. Not much heat, but a lot of kicks!Following
Day 421 Nike Dunk Laser Chris Lundy : Quite a few years ago, these laser joints were hot. I’m not sure how sought after they are now. One thing is for sure. The art on any of these laser shoes is pretty amazing. I’m lucky to have a pair, and they’re one of the coolest shoes in my collection no matter how much hype is behind em or not. These say 1 of 200, but i bet there’s really about 500 or more of these.
Day 420 Converse ABA : These shoes have been around since the ABA days. I still wonder how these shoes have stayed in such good condition. These things are bombproof! I guess that vulcanizing and rubber back then were just waaaay better. Made in the USA too, instead of the mass producing factories in Asia. I wonder how these other shoes I have will look 40 years later.
Day 419 Nike Air Max 93 : I’m kinda not partial to the original coloway 93s. I think it’s the fact that they’ve got way too much white. But pretty much all air maxes are dope to me, so that’s why I have them.
Day 418 Adidas Superstar : These are from the 07 NBA All Star Game. Yup, the one in Vegas. I was fortunate to get a pair of these, but I would much rather rep the West than the East. They’re still mad cool, and all the poker styling, the playing card icons, and nice material make them a really, really nice pair of shoes.
Day 416 Emerica McNally Bishop : This was a collabo between the infamous Bishop Don “Magic” Juan and Emerica. The king player pimp himself put his style into a pair of McNallys and made them his own. If you’ve ever seen Don “Magic” Juan, these shoes fit him to a T. Bright green leather and outsole, gold flake leather and green croc skin, gold laces, green star eyelets, gold star tongue, the big “bishop” on the heel, and a famous player pimp scene screenprint make this shoe completely pimp. If I ever find an event pimp enough to wear these, that’s when I’ll break these baby’s out!
Day 414 Converse Weapon Classic Hi : Congratulations Lakers! All of us here in LA thank you for keeping the trophy here. And the 4th quarter of game 7 was epic. Now I have worn purple and gold weapons before, but these are way different. These are the closest I’m going to get to Magic’s actual game worn style. If you take a look at these and compare them to the weapons that they make now, you can totally see the difference. Almost everything, although very similar, is different.
For reference, here’s a pic of the other Weapons I wore.
The tongue, midsole, laces, logo on the heel, liner, insole, and shape of upper are all different. But only sneaker nerds like me only give a damn.
Heck, I don’t even give a damn right now because the Lakers pulled off the greatest win in LA Finals history - a game 7 over the hated Celtics.
